Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) Library Services is planning a school library conference to take place on October 26th, 2007, the Provincial In-service day. The conference will be held at Truro Junior High School and there will be a minimal fee to attend. The planning committee is working hard to develop an attractive program that will include sessions on student plagiarism, book re-pair, Web 2.0 for school libraries, Storysacs, reluctant readers, fundraising, trends in teen fiction, etc. A registration package will follow but in the mean time the committee is trying to gather contact information and get an idea of how many people would be interested in possibly attending the conference.
If you are interested and would like to receive a registration package please e-mail your contact information and any comments to Jolene Shaw at shawja@ccrsb.ednet.ns.ca.
Please pass this e-mail along to anyone who may be interested. Thanks,CCRSB Library Services Conference Committee

CLA/APLA/NLLA National Conference and Trade Show
I will be attending the conference in Newfoundland this week. At this point my plans are to attend the APLA Past President's Reception, the Library Technician Networking dinner, the CLA Library Technician Interest Group Business Meeting and several workshops on Friday. I will only be in Newfoundland Thursday and Friday so it should be a busy couple of days.
Look for a report on the conference on the blog and in the next issue of the NSALT News.

A day in the life of a Library Technician...
NSALT wants to hear about your typical work day.
The executive is currently collecting submissions detailing a day in the work life of an LT. The information collected will be used on posters and other PR materials that are issued by the Association. Over the summer, NSALT will begin sending out posters, brochures, etc. to libraries and newspapers. These items will be aimed at the general public - public service announcements about the who and what of an LT.
Feel free to send suggestions to your president at ericasmith@eastlink.ca.
