Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) Library Services is planning a school library conference to take place on October 26th, 2007, the Provincial In-service day. The conference will be held at Truro Junior High School and there will be a minimal fee to attend. The planning committee is working hard to develop an attractive program that will include sessions on student plagiarism, book re-pair, Web 2.0 for school libraries, Storysacs, reluctant readers, fundraising, trends in teen fiction, etc. A registration package will follow but in the mean time the committee is trying to gather contact information and get an idea of how many people would be interested in possibly attending the conference.

Starting an association from scratch is a daunting and scary task. NSALT began when a small group of library technicians got together to discuss issues they were facing in their libraries. Everyone lamented that there was no outlet or support for their specific concerns.
